Documentary film in production
Oskar, 90, has devoted his life to feeding the birds and protecting his beloved old home, a former workers' cottage of the Vuosaari Manor, where he lived 1946-2002. The small forest and diverse nature around the cottage would not exist without the tree planting and decades of care by Oskar's family. The cottage and its surroundings are officially designated as a park and as part of the city's protected cultural environment, but maintenance has been neglected for more than decade. Decay, vandalism and a housing development planned by the city adjacent to the park now threaten the survival of Oskar's cherished oasis.
